JANUARY

● World Braille Day - 4 January .

○ Observed every year on January 4 since 2019, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the

inventor of Braille Language.

○ The day was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in November 2018.

● International Day of Education - 24 January .

○ On Dec 3, 2018, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution declaring this day as ‘International

Day of Education.’

● 27 January - International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust (when jews were killed

on the orders of Adolf Hitler) [United Nations].

FEBRUARY

● World Wetlands Day - 2 February .

○ This day marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971, in the Iranian city

of Ramsar on the shores of the Caspian Sea.

● World Pulses Day - 10 February .

○ World Pulses Day is a designated United Nations global event.

● World Cancer Day - 4 February .

● World Unani Day - 11 February .

○ World Unani Day is a global event taking place every year on 11th Feb to mark the birth anniversary of great

Unani scholar and social reformer Hakim Ajmal Khan.

● International Mother Language Day (IMLD) - 21 February .
